Pre-Loved

I've never been one for "pre-owned" shoes.  I actually thought it was yucky.  I do vintage, but not undergarments, swimwear, hats & shoes.

However, years ago, I was in line behind a girl in Chicago who had these L.L. Bean boots on.  I immediately asked her where she got them, but of course, they were vintage & she got them on ebay.  I looked on their website every year hoping they would re-issue them & even looked in their flagship store in Freeport, Maine.  Even on ebay, I could never find them in my size & almost gave up, but I found them just last month.  I had my trepidations, especially since these were something you wore working (a.k.a.-sweating) in mud, but I couldn't resist putting closure to my long search.

I looked up some "recipes" on how to clean vintage shoes & I've been enjoying them since.

My Bag Addiction Started Early...

I can't believe they are selling this vintage Esprit bag at Urban Outfitters for $88.  I can't remember how much it was back when I got it in junior high, but I'm certain it was not $88.  How funny to run across something from my past like this & to see how much it increased in value!  I should have kept mine.

If You Want to Destroy My Sweater...

I want a vintage Aran sweater really badly.  I just can't decide if I want it to be oversized or fitted.  I love that frayed hem in the picture on the left.  I can't imagine doing that to a poor sweater, but it just looks so undone & edgy.  I bet as soon as I look for an unraveling sweater, I won't be able to find one!  The look on the right is just so adorable though!  I love that skirt length, too.  Maybe I'll just have to get both sweaters (& that skirt, too!)!
