Pre-Loved

I've never been one for "pre-owned" shoes.  I actually thought it was yucky.  I do vintage, but not undergarments, swimwear, hats & shoes.

However, years ago, I was in line behind a girl in Chicago who had these L.L. Bean boots on.  I immediately asked her where she got them, but of course, they were vintage & she got them on ebay.  I looked on their website every year hoping they would re-issue them & even looked in their flagship store in Freeport, Maine.  Even on ebay, I could never find them in my size & almost gave up, but I found them just last month.  I had my trepidations, especially since these were something you wore working (a.k.a.-sweating) in mud, but I couldn't resist putting closure to my long search.

I looked up some "recipes" on how to clean vintage shoes & I've been enjoying them since.

I'm trying SO hard to be good & not buy things I'll be over in six months.  Lust has such bad judgment... 

That said, I love these Chloé boots & they are finally in reproduction.  I can't use that rationale though because I just bought these lost loves because THEY are back in production. 

Simply Irresistible

These Valentino's are so pretty, but I'm just not sure about the crystals.  I've never been one for gems, but the lace is irresistible!

I love these Celine boots.  I'm looking for a black flat boot & that slash of python is so modern & refreshing. Adding it to my wish list...

The Silver Lining

I think I need these shoes by Giambattista Valli.  I'm dying for a pony hair loafer in either leopard or black, but the silver heel is the clincher.

Elastica

I normally don't like the elastic panel on ankle boots, but I adore the use of neon elastic on these Christopher Kane Chelsea Boots.

I love the look of skirts with Chuck Taylor All Stars.  I especially love them covered with pyramid studs.  I see a DIY project on the horizon...

Storage Wars

Due to my shopping addiction, storage is always such a problem.  Manhattan apartments just do not offer enough closet space!  I always like seeing these kinds of shoe display ideas, but I'm just not sure I can live with my shoes all over the place either.  They do make beautiful displays, as there is no denying they can be like works of art.

I'm Missing You...

When these Ann Demeulemeester’s open-toe lace-up heels (the shoes on the far right) came out in Spring 2009, I hesitated.  I loved them, but I worried they were a passing fad.  I worried I wouldn't love them after a season, but I still yearn for them.  It brought me some relief that someone else shared the same feelings in this article, but well, it's still not that comforting since I'm still without the shoes... 

Green with Envy

I have such a weakness for Balenciaga anything, but especially their shoes.  However, these shoes are something else--the color, the skins, the straps...  They are screaming my name! 

I Heart Balenciaga

I normally don’t gravitate towards flat shoes, but I love these two pairs by Balenciaga.  Of course, they are no where near being “sensible shoes,” which is probably why I love them! 

Kicks

I’ve always wanted a pair of the checkered classic Vans slip-on’s, but they just don’t flatter by big ol’ feet.  However, these custom Vans made for Robert Verdi from Hermès scarves might be worth it!  Too bad I’m not a V.I.P.  Maybe one day…

Why Didn't I Buy in Bulk?

My favorite sandals are still my $29 Urban Outfitters fringe sandals.  I got them two summers ago & they are on their last leg.  Is it dumb to re-sole $29 sandals when re-soling them would definitely cost more than the price of the shoe? I just love them though! 

Hot Foot

I also love these flat sandals—also by Miu Miu.  It is so hard to find good flat sandals, but the color & shape of these shoes are stunning & perfect to take me into high summer!  

My New Obsession

This is my new shoe obsession.  I need these Miu Miu heels.  I know they are crazy & I know some would say they are ugly, but I adore them.  I think they would be perfect for summer, with dresses, with jeans & even in the winter with tights.  I can’t wait!
